INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE UNITED STATES MILITARY TROOPS

RESOLUTION #03-78

WHEREAS, with the crisis in Iraq, the war on terrorism in Afghanistan and homeland security, the United States Military is currently facing several difficult situations; and

WHEREAS, men and women in the Armed Forces are committed to preserving the freedom that we have as American citizens and to protect our Nation from a wide range of threats; and

WHEREAS, as our Nation engages in war with the Iraqi regime, many of our service men and women are performing their duties over seas; and

WHEREAS, a number of Ingham County residents are serving their country in active duty; and

WHEREAS, these brave men and women are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, and deserve the respect and support of the citizens of the United States.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners supports our troops and extends its sincere appreciation and respect to the troops for their bravery and patriotism.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, our thoughts and prayers for a quick and successful victory, are with our troops and their families.
